Adam Dunn remains the most polarizing player on the Cincinnati Reds roster, his every misstep eliciting groans, sometimes jeers, even a critical rant by an opposing general manager. Many in the crowd at Great American Ball Park booed when Dunn misread a soft line drive yesterday and allowed it to fall for a base hit.
But the jeers turned to cheers with an RBI single in the sixth inning and a grand slam in the seventh as the Reds beat the San Diego Padres 9-5, building on what has been arguably the best season of Dunn's career.
