The left-handed closer is rare, but the Indians, at the least, have a candidate to consider in Rafael Perez, who was dominant in 2007 and has improved after a rough April in '08. When asked if Perez, who is 1-1 with a 3.18 ERA in 44 appearances this season, has the potential to be one, Wedge didn't rule it out.
