As a high school player, Jason Thompson was so lightly regarded that he ended up at Rider instead of a traditional basketball power. After growing to 6-foot-11 and working on his game for four years in college, Thompson became an NBA lottery pick when the Sacramento Kings chose him with the 12th overall pick in the NBA draft Thursday night.
