Linebacker Lofa Tatupu suffered a bone bruise in his knee, coach Mike Holmgren said, but Seattle's three-time Pro Bowler should be ready for the first game of the season in Buffalo on Sept. 7.

Tatupu was on the field, watching his teammates stretch before Wednesday's practice and then went inside. Tatupu probably won't play in the exhibition finale on Friday against Oakland, but he might not have played in that game anyway. Holmgren chose to rest his starters in that final exhibition game last season.

Tatupu suffered the injury in Monday's exhibition loss in San Diego.

Quarterback Charlie Frye also left the game with a knee injury. Holmgren said the diagnosis is the same for Frye, but he could be available to play on Friday against Oakland if needed. Frye did not practice Wednesday. Neither did starter Matt Hasselbeck missed practice again because of a sore back, leaving Seneca Wallace and Dalton Bell as the only quarterbacks participating in practice, and Holmgren said those are the two expected to play in Friday's exhibition game.
